Goldfields Compressor Hire (GCH) was established in 2004 as an industrial hire company specializing in the supply of compressed air, high pressure boosters and equipment to the mining, drilling, exploration, construction, oil and gas and industrial sectors.

GCH is located in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

Managing Director Michael Martin has over 25 years experience in compressed air and high pressure boosters, being involved in the drilling industry for over twenty years specializing in RC air drilling. With extensive experience in drilling fundamentals, high pressure air, specialist pressure testing of pressure vessels, piping, and associated equipment, reverse circulation drilling systems, air core, down hole percussion, drilling fault finding, supervision, consulting in air systems and supply of specialist air operators, GCH can supply the equipment and personnel to meet your needs.

The growth of the company has evolved predominantly from long term hire contracts. Specialist hire has been supplied to companies such as Bechtel USA, Boart Longyear, TDC Drilling, Peak Drilling, Orbit Drilling, Strange Drilling, Union Drilling, VM Drilling, Arinooka Drilling, Challenge Drilling.

With new equipment and service agreements GCH has continued to grow. We take pride in being able to supply equipment with high reliability, low fuel consumption and innovative ideas to improve production for our clients.

We approached GCH to discuss access problems we were encountering on a drilling project 200km north of Cue in Western Australia. The drilling program was located around and on top of an iron ridge creating a situation where the client was having difficulty clearing a flat pad for the drilling rig and auxiliary equipment. GCH designed and manufactured a track carrier fitted with leveling jacks, water and fuel tanks, auxiliary compressor and high pressure booster, and a drill rod storage rack. The whole package has enabled us to drill on uneven ground conditions, longer time on a drill hole with the extra fuel capacity and we now achieve the drill hole depths that our client required with the extra rod capacity and high pressure air achieved from the booster.

This package has enabled us securing a long term drilling contract and we have since secured another compressor and booster mounted on a 6 wheel drive Mercedes truck from GCH.
